LOMBOK — To help stop unfair treatment and protect worker rights, the Center for Village Innovation (CVI) and Indonesian recruitment agency PT Pamor Sapta Dharma organized a special training program on June 22, 2026.
Titled “Migration, Business, and Human Rights,” this second annual training focused on recruitment for the palm oil industry in Malaysia, where workers often face unfair treatment and safe recruitment practices are urgently needed.

The training turned complex global rules into easy-to-use steps for recruiters working between Indonesia and Malaysia. The learning process took place in two main steps:
- Learning the Basics: Recruiters learned how international supply chains work, how to use zero-cost recruitment (where workers do not pay fees), and how to protect workers from unfair practices.
- Taking Action: Participants looked closely at their daily work routines, solved real field problems, and created simple 30-day work plans with follow-up support from CVI.
Key Results of the Training
By the end of the program, participants learned how to:
- Follow Fair Rules: Understand honest and ethical ways to recruit workers across borders.
- Protect Worker Rights: Explain basic rights to workers clearly and make sure those rights are respected.
- Stop Unfair Practices: Spot and stop bad practices early, such as forcing workers into debt or making them work against their will.
Through this training, CVI and PT Pamor Sapta Dharma aim to protect human dignity while helping companies build a safe, fair, and reliable workforce.

Open for Future Partnerships
CVI welcomes future opportunities to work together with different partners:
- Universities & Research Centers: To study and promote fair job recruitment.
- Government Offices: To follow laws and legal rules.
- Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs): To help more workers and communities.
- Businesses: To build fair and responsible supply chains.
- International Organizations: To meet global standards for worker protection.
